The world is full of mass produced furniture and home accessories. Whilst it is very convenient and allows people to furnish their homes in a more economical way, most of us like to feel proud of our homes and yearn for unique pieces as individual as we are. What if you were able to have an oak dining table or a chandelier made just for you? Why not? It’s easier than you think.

Just the right size
Like the design but find the size too small or too big? A set of bespoke dining table and benches can be made precisely to the 2.28 metres length you require to fit perfectly into your remodelled dining space. It can be made taller if you are looking for an alternative use as a kitchen island or shorter if you are looking for a kids’ table. Similarly, if you need your chandelier to drop down exactly to a specific depth through your stairwell or fit perfectly over your bespoke oak dining table, you needn’t look too far.

Quality like no other
Oak and antler furniture from Port Wood Furniture Studio are made from top grade materials. Honest, chunky solid oak and antlers from the most majestic stags are used to make our bespoke pieces, lovingly hand crafted in family run workshops. Our craftsmen love what they do and they do it so well. There is nothing like proudly showing off your hand made bespoke oak dining table, knowing it will be there for generations to come.

Eco credentials
Because of the short supply chain, we are able to track the origin of our materials, giving you the peace of mind. Our oak comes from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified sources, which means every tree felled is replaced with multiple new ones. Forests are managed in a way that a healthy balance of mature and new trees is maintained permanently. And guess what? All the new trees produce more oxygen than the old ones, so managing forests like this is actually a great way of keeping the planet healthy. Our antlers are all hand collected on the slopes of Scottish Highlands and hand crafted locally. Deer antlers are actually the ultimate renewable source, as stags shed them naturally and grow a new pair every year. The older the stag, the bigger the antlers.

As unique as you
Like the design, but want a different colour? No problem. Want the piece a little chunkier? With a small alteration? Or a completely bespoke design? Everyone likes to surround themselves with things they like. The opportunities are indeed endless and all you need is your imagination.

It doesn’t cost the Earth
Admittedly, one does benefit from economies of scale with production line furniture and lighting, but what are you actually paying for? Picture this: a piece of furniture made in China would typically come out of a factory, which sells to a Chinese wholesaler with a mark-up. The Chinese wholesaler will sell to a European wholesaler, who in turn will sell to a shop. At each stage, a margin is added and each time the product is transported, logistics costs are added too. With bespoke manufacturing, this supply chain is a lot shorter, so you are cutting out the middle men as well as reducing the carbon footprint. This means that your money pays for the quality of the product rather than sales and transport costs.
